This front wheel stud M14 x 50mm sits under the wheel bolts where the wheel rests. After years of wear and tear and weather conditions - the thread can wear out or the entire component can corrode - which means it no longer holds a wheel securely. When carrying out a complete wheel repair - replace this small part preventively - especially if you are refitting the original VW special wheels or re-polished ones to your T2. Combine this immediately with new wheel bolts so that you refresh everything neatly at the same time.
