This engine plate sits between the cylinder head and the cooling system and provides the necessary openings for the oil cooler connection. Black painted steel, standard under the hood of T1, T2a, Karmann Ghia and Type 181. Make sure to check this plate for rust and deformation before reinstalling it, especially if you have completely disassembled the engine. Combine this with fresh oil cooler hoses and gaskets for a cleanly finished result.
