This metal oil filler cap gasket sits between the cap and the cover pot - preventing oil from leaking out along the cap. It's a simple yet essential component that hardens and starts leaking after several years. It fits well in the original VW version (OEM 111 115 487) with the correct diameter and elasticity. Combine this with a new oil filler cap if you're already working on it.
