This O-ring sits between the flywheel and the crankshaft and ensures that the oil bath remains properly sealed there. If this ring is aged or damaged, you will get oil leakage around the flywheel and from the back of the engine. VW part number 311 105 295A fits T1, T2, Beetle, Type 3, Karmann Ghia and Type 181. Combine this with a new seal kit for your complete service.
