VW T2 Bus | Screw for lock plate in side of gearbox | N 090 173 3
This screw holds the locking plate of your gearbox in place and ensures that the gearbox remains properly sealed. It seems like a small part - but without this fastener - you could experience oil leakage from your gearbox. For all T2 models (08/67-07/92) and the T3 - you're always on the right track with OEM number N 090 173 3. Make sure to also order a new gasket for the locking plate - as you will definitely need to replace it when working on this part.
