This seal sits around the rear wheel bearing and keeps the grease where it belongs: in the hub. If you notice your brakes getting dirty or the bearing starting to wear - this seal is likely at the end of its life. OEM number 113 501 315 (T1 and KG) or 111 501 315 (Type 3 and 181) will help you find the correct variant for your model. Combine this with a new rear wheel bearing and fresh bearing grease for a complete overhaul of your rear hub.
