The seal at the bottom of your steering box prevents oil from leaking out of the system and dirt from entering. This ring gradually wears out due to the constant movement of the steering cone, so if you notice your steering box starting to leak, this is often the first thing you replace. The replacement part N 14 905 1 fits all classic Beetle, Type 3, and Karmann Ghia models. Combine this with a new oil change in your steering box for a complete seal restoration.
