The throttle cable (OEM 311 721 555) connects the accelerator pedal directly to your carburetor and determines how quickly your engine responds. This cable wears out after years of use and stretches, resulting in a loose pedal or an engine that no longer starts properly. For Type 3 engines with a single carburetor, this is the correct replacement. Combine this with a new throttle housing if that is also worn.
