The mechanism works with your ventilation system to prevent strong drafts and precisely adjust the airflow to the engine. The OEM number 211 817 705 makes this part directly compatible with classic air-cooled VWs. Combine this with a new ventilation hose and heater hose set for a completely refreshed air and heating system.
