The rubber seal of your engine lid lock ensures that water and dirt cannot penetrate the lock. On T2a and T2b models, this small rubber part wears out quite quickly, especially if you open the engine lid regularly. This is replacement part 211 827 517, exactly as VW made it. Combine this with a new lock cylinder or the complete lock if you're already working on it.
