This chrome trim ring for the taillight sits between your reflector and the lens, so it's literally visible. For T2a and Type 181, this part (211 945 117B) is almost always replaced because the chrome gets damaged or disappears. The original Volkswagen design provides exactly the right finish to match the rest of your front end. Combine this with a new taillight lens and you'll immediately have a spruced-up rear.
