This rubber seal sits under the brake and clutch pedal and prevents dust and moisture from entering through the floor. After decades - the rubber is usually hardened and torn - so replacement is recommended. The part is quite hidden under the pedals - but with some patience - you can get it out. Combine this with fresh pedal tubes and a clutch cable for a complete overhaul of your operating mechanism.
