This hex head bolt M8 x 70 (DIN 931) is a standard fastener for countless applications in your T1, T2, or Beetle, especially for housings and assembly work where a full thread is not required. The galvanized surface provides excellent protection against rust, and the half thread offers a good grip without overtightening. VW used this bolt extensively, so it's worth having a few extra in your toolbox. Combine this with some suitable nuts and washers for a complete mounting kit.
