This rubber intake boot (311 119 665A) sits between the air filter and the carburetor on Type 3s and ensures an airtight connection. After decades - the rubber becomes brittle and cracks - leading to air leaks and a poorly running engine. Replace this rubber when cleaning or tuning the carburetor - as you'll have everything open anyway. Combine this part with a new air filter housing and carburetor service kit for a complete overhaul.
