These 96mm, 0.040 inch cylinder shims are used to precisely adjust the clearance between the cylinder and the crankcase, which is essential for a properly sealed engine block. Especially during a rebuild or when you have had cylinders ground, these shims are indispensable. They fit all air-cooled engines from 1200cc up to 1600cc in your T1, T2 or Beetle. Combine them with a new cylinder gasket set for a truly perfect result.
