This gear is located in your speedometer and determines how much the needle advances per distance traveled. With 11 teeth - this model is suitable for kilometer readings on an mph scale - so adjust your speedometer for American specifications or particular odometer calibrations. Your Beetle and T1 will then have a working speedometer again that provides reliable measurements. Combine this with a complete speedometer mechanism or a new speedometer lens for a fully restored speedometer.
