The left wiper shaft (OEM 111 955 216C) ensures that your left wiper moves correctly. This part is the shaft on which the wiper arm pivots - and it is crucial that it rotates smoothly without play. For T1 Beetles - this is a standard replacement part that can start to squeak or become stiff after years of wear. Combine this with a new right shaft and fresh wiper blades for complete wiper maintenance.
