These shims ensure the cylinder head stays firmly in place without shifting. They are essential for maintaining correct cylinder pressure and sealing, especially on M8 engines where everything is precision work. This is a set of two pieces (OEM 043 119 317A), so for all four cylinders, you will need two sets. Combine these with new cylinder head bolts and assembly paste for a neatly finished job.
