These powder-coated steel plates sit around your oil cooler and keep dirt and sand out of your engine. Different variants are needed for T1, T2a, T2b, Karmann Ghia and Type 181, so check your chassis number against the correct OEM numbers (113 119 431, 113 119 419, 113 119 543 or 113 119 519). They don't really wear out, but if you're refurbishing your engine, you'll want them clean and pristine. Combine this with a new seal bolt kit and fresh hoses for a completely refreshed cooling system.
