This reducer is located between the fuel tank ventilation and the air filter housing - ensuring proper air circulation without fuel fumes entering the intake manifold. On T2 and Type 4 engines - this part is critical for stable mixture formation and to prevent acidification of the oil bath. Original VW part number 055 129 638. Combine this with a new fuel cap or gas-tight hoses for a complete ventilation system.
