These Bosch contact points (111 998 063) are the heart of your ignition system: they open and close the circuit that powers the ignition coil, allowing your engine to ignite. In older VWs, they wear out naturally, causing erratic idling, weak sparks, or even starting problems. A set of new points costs little and immediately makes a difference in starting power and running. Combine them with a new contact point condenser, and you'll have a fresh ignition system.
