These Bosch contact points (111 998 063) are the heart of your ignition system: they open and close the circuit that powers the ignition coil - allowing your engine to ignite. In older VWs - they wear out naturally - causing erratic idling - weak sparks - or even starting problems. A set of new points costs little and immediately makes a difference in starting power and running. Combine them with a new contact point condenser - and you'll have a fresh ignition system.
