This O-ring ensures that your distributor remains watertight and prevents dirt and moisture from entering. It is a small but important seal that you should preferably replace preventively during maintenance - because once hardened - this ring will no longer seal properly. This replacement part (111 905 261) fits all air-cooled VWs from T1 up to Type 4. Combine this with a new distributor cap and rotor for a complete refresh of your ignition system.
