This set of four seals sits on the oil cooler or adapter of your engine and prevents oil from leaking from the connections. They wear out mainly due to temperature fluctuations and simply become porous after a few years. These part numbers 021 117 151A and 111 117 151B fit all air-cooled Volkswagens from the 1960s to the 1980s. Combine this with a new thermostat housing or oil cooler if you are going to overhaul the entire assembly anyway.
