This spring washer ensures the correct preload on your rocker shaft and prevents the rocker shaft from rattling. Without these paired parts, you won't get far with a decent cylinder head, so check if you still have original ones or if they need to be replaced. BBT supplies these in different thicknesses, so you can set the correct tension precisely. Combine this with a new set of rocker shaft bolts and your cylinder head will be top-notch again.
