These piston rings (OEM 315 198 163A) are the standard size for the 83mm pistons in your T1, T2a, T2b, Type 3, Karmann Ghia and Type 181. With the classic 2/2/4mm ring configuration, they ensure proper gas sealing and minimal blowby, exactly what your old engine needs. Since piston rings wear out and lose their tension, it is best to replace them along with a complete piston/cylinder kit to maintain optimal compression and fuel consumption.
