This rubber gasket is located between the fuel pump mount and the fuel tank and prevents gasoline from leaking out of the system. After decades, the rubber can dry out and wear, causing a gasoline smell in the car or actual gasoline loss. The OEM number 113 127 313 fits all air-cooled VWs from T1 to T3. Combine this with a new fuel pump or a complete gasket kit for thorough maintenance.
