The original main bearings of your Type 1 engine block won't last forever, especially during a rebuild or if your engine already has a considerable number of miles on the odometer. This set (OEM 111 198 483) is the standard version with a case adjustment of 1.00 and a crankshaft tolerance of 0.25, making it suitable for blocks in original condition without wear to the crankshaft. They fit all Type 1 engines and also the T2a, T2b, T3, Type 3, and Karmann Ghia. Combine these with pistons and piston rings for a complete rebuild.
