This washer sits between the flywheel bolt and the flywheel - ensuring good contact between these two parts. VW used this small part on all air-cooled models - and it's no more complicated than it seems: just a sturdy washer that does its job. Combine this with a new flywheel bolt and lock washer for a complete setup.
