This circlip holds the driveshaft in place in the differential and ensures that everything stays perfectly aligned. It is a small but essential clip that you need when rebuilding or repairing the rear end - a suitable replacement part with number N 12 320 1. If you are working on the differential - also check the other circlips and replace them along with a new gasket for the cover.
