This driveshaft (113 598 331) connects your gearbox directly to the rear wheel hub, so it must fit precisely and without play. For T1, Type 3, and Karmann Ghia, this is the original design, with the correct length and balancing. Before installation, check if the flexible couplings at both ends still rotate smoothly, as they bear most of the wear. Combine this with new coupling elements if you're already at it.
