This wheel bearing is located on the inside of your rear axle and carries the full weight of your van. On a T2a or T2b with IRS (independent rear suspension), you can replace this bearing without disassembling the entire hub spoke, which is a significant advantage. If you feel or hear play in the wheel, or if your brake runs hot without you braking, this OEM bearing 211 501 287 is probably worn out. Combine this with the outer bearing and brake discs for a complete rear axle overhaul.
