This wheel bearing is located on the inside of your rear axle and carries the full weight of your van. On a T2a or T2b with IRS (independent rear suspension) - you can replace this bearing without disassembling the entire hub spoke - which is a significant advantage. If you feel or hear play in the wheel - or if your brake runs hot without you braking - this OEM bearing 211 501 287 is probably worn out. Combine this with the outer bearing and brake discs for a complete rear axle overhaul.
