The rear spring plate carries the full weight of your Beetle and - together with the shock absorbers - ensures a smooth ride. This replacement part (111 511 205A) is the same for both left and right - so you can use it on either side. After decades - this plate can become weak or even tear - resulting in a stiff and bumpy ride. Combine this with new shock absorbers for a complete comfort upgrade.
