The torsion bar covers (also called trailing arm covers) are located on the left and right sides of the swing axle and protect the torsion bars from dirt and moisture. In T1 Beetles and Karmann Ghias, these rubber parts wear out over the years, leading to play in the suspension and undefined steering. These OEM numbers 113 511 227A and 113 511 219 fit all T1 models and the Type 181. Combine this with fresh torsion bars for the complete picture.
