This rubber bushing seals the opening where the shift rod passes through the engine block bulkhead to your gearbox. After decades - the rubber becomes brittle and tears - causing dirt and moisture to enter your shifting mechanism. The OEM number 211 301 289A fits perfectly here. Combine this with a new shift bolt and retaining ring for a completely functional shifting system.
