This mounting plate (211 301 291) sits between the engine and the gearbox and holds the rubber suspension of the gearbox nose in place. After decades - this plate can rust or get damaged - causing vibration and play. Replacing it is simple and truly makes a difference in driving comfort. Combine this with a new rubber mount and your gearbox will be firmly seated again.
