This cotter pin goes through the locking hole of the brake drum nut on the rear axle and prevents the nut from coming loose. Always replace it during assembly - as once disassembled - the pin is no longer reliable. OEM number N 12 548 1. Combine this with a new brake drum nut for a complete service.
