This oil seal sits where your rear axle passes through the transmission casing and keeps the oil inside where it belongs. If it starts to leak - you'll lose oil and get rust on your rear axle - so this is a preventative maintenance part that you'd better not ignore. VintageDub supplies you with the original Volkswagen version (111 501 303B) - suitable for all T1 Buses - Beetles and Karmann Ghias. Combine this with a new oil hose and oil pan gasket for a complete rear axle overhaul.
