The gearshift rod coupling connects your gearshift rod to the shifting mechanism under the car, making it a critical component for smooth shifting. With OEM number 311 798 211, this coupling fits the T2a, T2b, Type 3, Karmann Ghia, Type 181, and Type 4. You'll immediately notice wear here: play in the shifter, difficult shifting, or the car jumping out of gear. Combine this with a new gearshift rod bushing and you're all set.
