This coupling connects the shift rod to the shift mechanism and is essential for smooth gearbox operation on your T2. The original part number 211 711 169A wears out over the years - leading to slack and play - which results in a loose shifting feel or difficulty engaging gears. A new coupling restores the direct connection and gives you that pleasant mechanical feedback behind the wheel again. We recommend combining this with a new shift cable or retaining clip if you are already working on it.
