This inner bearing bush in your front axle ensures that the steering wheel turns smoothly without play. Original parts wear out after decades - which causes a loose steering feel and uneven tire wear. With OEM number 131 401 313 - you're exactly right again - and the HDPE version is more reliable than some loose couplings from that era. Combine this with a new ball joint and your front axle will feel like new again.
