The pitman arm seal ensures that the grease lubricating the joint does not leak from the shaft and that the steering does not become loose. After decades, this rubber ring can harden and the grease is lost, after which play develops. This original VW seal (211 415 273) prevents that problem and is quickly replaced. Combine it with a new pitman arm kit for complete steering maintenance.
