This lock plate ensures that your hub nut does not loosen due to vibrations and the detachment of your front wheel. It works together with the split pin to provide maximum security - so both must be present for safe assembly. VW used this part as standard on the T1 and Karmann Ghia - original number 111 405 681. Combine this with a new split pin and a fresh hub nut for a complete and safe wheel assembly.
