The left tie rod (131 415 801B) provides steering range on the left side of your Beetle or Karmann Ghia and is essential for straight-line driving and smooth steering response. This replacement part wears out over the years due to constant use - especially on older models that have covered many miles. Replacement is not a major job but is important for your safety and handling. Combine this with the right tie rod and possibly a steering shaft overhaul for complete maintenance of your steering system.
