The left rear brake backing plate sits between your brake drum and the wheel bearing housing. This plate holds your brake shoes in place and transmits the braking force via the backing plate to the chassis. For a T3 with rear drums - they are essential for brake maintenance - especially when removing the drums. Combine this with a new set of brake shoes and an overhaul of the crankshaft seals.
