This anchor plate sits behind your rear brake shoe and holds everything in place. It's a simple yet indispensable part that you shouldn't overlook when working on your brakes - otherwise those shoes will rattle loose. Always replace this plate together with your brake shoes and wheel cylinders - and you'll have a job well done. Combine this with the corresponding anchor plate on the right side and your rear braking system will be complete again.
