This grommet protects where your accelerator cable passes through the engine block - preventing the cable from chafing against sharp edges. It's a simple but important part for a long lifespan of your accelerator cable. VintageDub supplies these original OEM rubber grommets (311 721 579) for T1 - Type 3 - Karmann Ghia - and Type 181. Combine this with a new accelerator cable if yours is worn out.
