Rubber buffer for the engine lid or front trunk of the VW Beetle and Karmann Ghia, OEM numbers 311 823 499A, 131 823 499.2 and 867 827 500. The buffer cushions the lid on closing and prevents metal-on-metal contact with the body. Replacement is common when the rubber has hardened or come loose.
