The rubber heating cable (OEM 113 711 691) ensures that your carburetor and fuel line do not freeze in winter. This is not a luxury but a pure necessity if you want to drive your Beetle, Type 3, Karmann Ghia or Type 181 all year round. The cable is wrapped around the carburetor and connected to the battery, so that heat keeps the fuel supply flowing.
