This control mechanism provides the connection between your heater knob and the control slide in the engine bay. It is the weakest point in many classic VW heating systems: after decades - the wires wear out and your knob comes loose in your hand. The original Volkswagen mechanism (111 711 681+671A+675+677+N13 328 1+N 13 216 1) has been completely reconditioned and is ready for use - so you no longer have to reach into the engine bay by hand. Combine this with a complete heating repair kit for a properly working system.
