The rubbery seal around your engine lid keeps water and dirt out and provides a neat finish between the lid and the body. Over time - this seal becomes hard and porous - allowing water to seep in during rain or causing drafts. This original seal (111 827 705) fits your T1 perfectly and restores that snug fit to your engine lid. Combine this with a new engine lid hinge if you need to replace that anyway.
